KLG | Communication and Copy Writing Brisbane

KLG is more than crafting and delivering the most effective presentation! We are also about giving feedback to writers so they can craft the most effective document possible. Writers in business and government, along with those in research benefit from a Writing Coach. A Writing Coach is an expert wordsmith and trained educator, able to teach writers about the strategies that will make their arguments stronger. They break down the sometimes mammoth task of writing into manageable milestones. Good writing coaches will provide models of good writing and teach you how to deconstruct text. It can be a bit like working with a jigsaw puzzle!

As the lead Communication and Copy Writing Professional, I have worked extensively both in Australia and internationally. My experience draws on knowledge and training gained in the university sector and private business, both in Australia and overseas. In Italy I trained professional and business people to write and present effective presentations for congresses, business meetings and trade fairs. At QUT I delivered writing programmes across the university, working primarily with the Science and Engineering Faculty and the Executive MBA students.

I am passionate about making writing accessible, by sharing strategies that enable people to communicate more effectively, in both the written and spoken form. Two of my favourite programs are the Academic Women in Research and Women in STEMM projects. Here I train academics in their publication and grant writing and take them away from the desk on Writing Retreats so as to increase their productivity.

I use interactive strategies to ensure participants learn by doing, knowing that good writers, involved in the writing process are constantly thinking, writing, reflecting, revising, and rewriting. KLG Communications understands the value of feedback in developing a writer’s argument and all of our work is based on research. Let me introduce our former colleague Sophie Abel who has gone on to the University of Technology Sydney to develop an electronic tool, AcaWriter. Sophie is investigating the extent this tool can provide immediate feedback for research students so as to learn the moves of the writing process.
